What About the Devil and Evil?

Frank: “What do you have to say about the Devil, the antichrist, the beast, Satan, evil spirits, demonic possession, demonic use of religion, and how do you relate Jesus’s prophecies to the Christian expression of religion in the world?”

The Voice for Love: “Dear One, to believe is to make something real in one’s experience. You will experience what you believe. What Jesus came to teach is that there is but one true reality, Love. It is the Love which you are, as an extension of God’s Love, in God’s image and likeness.

“To be fully aware of that Love, as one’s core reality, is to feel free to express within the world all that would come from such Love. The extension of Love is the natural way of being for all of God’s children. It is without pretension or cover-up or forgetfulness of who and what one truly is. It expresses appropriately because it is always under the guidance of God’s Love through Holy Spirit.

“The concept of the devil is nothing more than the personification of a decision of the soul/mind to be in the world without the awareness of Love’s intimate presence within. Indeed, when one decides to experience such a vacuous state, adopting it as one’s reality, one will also experience deep fear and act defensively out of such fear. Such is the state of hell—living that is the experience of the absence of God’s Love within. The choice for that experience entails the belief in it as a real state of being.

“By analogy, a person who attends a horror show is not impressed by the show unless his physical reactions are caught up in the movie as a real adrenaline-provoking threat. It is also possible that such a person might not get physically caught up in the show, nor even choose to attend it if they are fully cognizant at all times of their true safe reality as Love.

“The power of the mind/soul to make situations within such a living hell is unlimited. Similarly, the power of the soul/mind of God’s child is unlimited in its ability to creatively express Love. When Jesus taught that there is but one law and it is to love your neighbor as yourself and to love God, he was speaking of this reality. Just as the laws of physics simply describe relationships between objects, the Law of Love describes What Is, in reality. God’s law is the only law, the only reality, and it is the description of all that is, eternally.

“The decision to experience the absence of Love’s Presence has hellacious consequences, but no experience can change reality. Reality is not subject to change because of an imagined experience. Experiences feel real because of the power of the mind to choose them with the intent of omitting the awareness of Love’s presence. But the Law of Love that Jesus taught is the only lasting and true description of What Is, in spite of any temporary experiences. What is real is Love. God’s child, the extension of His Love, is always what it is: God’s Love. What can be experienced is either Love or fear, but only Love is real and eternal. Religions can be experienced with fear or with Love. What they teach and what is absorbed by others comes from the decision of both the teacher and the student to choose Love or fear as their reality.

“Blessings to you, dear one. You are loved, you are love, and you are a blessing. Choose only Love, for that is what you are.”
