My Most Controversial Christian Radio Interview

Dear friends,

I had a very unexpected radio interview a few days ago that will likely spark a little controversy. I’d love for you to tell me what you think in the comments area! Here’s how it went down…

I’ve been doing a lot of radio interviews since the release of my book, When God Spoke to Me. Because I’ve been doing so many, I stopped doing research on the people interviewing me. Usually, when someone asks to interview me, I check out their website, see what type of program they have, see where they’re coming from, etc. For whatever reason, I completely stopped doing that.

For example, when I had my interview with Ilanya a few weeks ago, I had no idea who she was until a few minutes before the interview when my wife told me that she used to be a regular guest on Oprah back in the 90s! A few days ago when I did my most recent interview, I had no idea who Don Parker was, what he believed, what his program was about, or anything else. I just figured it was going to be like all the others.

Well, it wasn’t. Don was actually a very good sport, but I don’t think he appreciated what I had to say, and rightly so given where he was coming from. I won’t give away too much, but suffice it to say, I don’t think his audience liked me very much.

One final thing before you click the link below to listen to it…

One of the core tenants that we teach is the idea that God speaks to us where we are. As a result, I try to join people where they are when I speak to them. I try to use their vocabulary. I try to say things in ways that make sense to them. I try to join with them in their own reality. At the same time, I try to bring my truth to them in ways they can understand. In this particular interview, I definitely used vocabulary that I had never used before, and I said things that I would normally never say. I wasn’t lying or being untrue to Don or myself. I was simply trying to speak with Don and his listeners in ways they might be able to hear me.

By the way, I’d love to hear what you think of the interview. Please don’t be bashful in sharing your thoughts and opinions below in the comments area.

I hope you enjoy the interview. Click the play button or link below to listen now:

    DavidPaul,
It’s late and I need to go to bed. However, I wanted to at least say how much I appreciated your taking part – and staying the course – in this interview with Don Parker.
I’ve had quite a knee-jerk reaction to fundamentalist Christians for a number of years now and mostly “don’t go there.”
This interview was a great testimony for how grounded you are in the Holy Spirit.
I’ll keep this short as I need to let what I’ve just heard settle.
More blessings to you and yours!
    Linda

  • Thanks Linda. I’m glad you enjoyed it. And I hope you got a good night sleep!

    DavidPaul,

I listened with interest to this interview. At first I was getting a little upset with the interviewer, but then something in my head just told me to really listen to the guy (whenever you came up for air! – I’m kidding!), and I really have to say that you two seemed more in agreement, than not. Unfortunately,at the place where you disagree, there’s a large chasm between you.

I do not understand why fundamentalists are so infatuated with the bible as the ONLY word of God. But then I saw that I was projecting my thoughts about The Course in Miracles onto him, so I forgave (extended Love) myself and went on.

I also do not get why they think Jesus is the only Son of God. Why wouldn’t God make our being like Him an unobtainable goal? It still means we follow Him. If you EVER have another interview along this similar vein, you might want to discuss the writings of Kenneth Wapnick, who worked with and for the original scribes of The Course. He intermingles the words “Jesus” and the “Holy Spirit” in his work, making them synonyms. You might have to read one of his little books, though!

    Anyway, just a few thoughts.

    Blessings,
    Kirk Farrar

  • Thanks for sharing your experience, Kirk. Yes, I felt like he was wanting to believe what I was sharing, but couldn’t quite go there in the moment, especially on air with his own audience. I could be wrong, but I felt like he was trying to “try that hat on” so to speak and see what it felt like.

    DavidPaul,

I was in awe of the Love; Holy Spirit through you, was projecting into the world during this interview. It is always amazing to me how Love can over come the ego in every given moment. I ponder that maybe there was an ambush in there somewhere, but it is reconfirmed for me that Holy Spirit is a tough one to ambush. I really felt the Love and God is Love, so Thank you for those moments with God.

    With Love,
    Jim Abbott

  • Thank you for your kind thoughts, Jim. I appreciate it. I certainly never saw it the way you did Aa the time. I was just feeling it and expressing it, but I wasn’t really trying to. I just felt like I was being myself and speaking my truth. I was actually really dreading the interview because I had had a very long day and had forgotten about the interview until about one hour before. I remember telling Candace, “Ug,I have an interview to do tonight.” When what I really want to do was just relax in front of the TV after a long day. 🙂 But I got up for it and meditated for a few minutes before the call and really enjoyed it and felt super happy and joyful by the end of it. I remember getting off the phone and telling Candace, “Wow. I just had a great interview.” Thanks for letting me share 🙂 lots of love to you.

Dear David, I listened to the radio interview and I must say you didn an increadable job. I think it was perfect that you didnt look into that mans background before the interview…because you might have done somethign differently and I think that would have been unfotunate….for it was all perfect for you both and all that hear it.
I feel that the only real issue Mr. Parker had with you is simply that he is at a different place in his spiritual developement then you. He isnt at a place to be able to ‘get’ what you are saying, or where you heart was coming from. I have spoken to quite a few people in that place myself. You said the same things that I say…which made me feel super great I might add. lol Anyway… your ability to speak to him from your spirit and what you believe to be true, and to not even remotely speak down to him or insult his belief system was just amazing. You spoke from a place of pure love…you spoke as I think Mr. Parkers ‘Jesus’ would have spoken…you came from a place of wanting to share the joy and the love of the holy spirit and thats all you can do. One thing I know for sure….there probably were a LOT of people that heard that interview that were changed by it. They might not say so but you know you touched peoples souls and some for the first I’m sure. Plus…even if they dont accept what you said…they cant unhear it and they will put it in thier back packs, so to speak, and will have it right there when its needed…and thtas perfect too! Opening minds…opening hearts….feeding souls…its the most blessed and joy filled job out there and you are doing it so well!
I appreciate you David…and I admire you. Keep up the good work!

    Dear DavidPaul,
I just got your email with the link to the interview, and listened to it with great interest. My sense, (judgment?) was that you were under attack the whole time, but that you didn’t perceive yourself as being attacked. What a fabulous example of seeing only the truth! On a more uncomfortable note, I was able to see in myself area’s that I share(d) with Mr. Parker.
Looking forward to seeing you and Candace in San Fransisco later on this week. Stephan Mead

Thank you for your courage in shining the light of love into, well, everything:-) It has helped me tremendously to listen to Jeshua in many forms and also to study these teachings from the original Aramaic in which they were offered. So much healing and release and forgiveness for me in this and for everyone of all religions. Compassion, tenderness, breathing love, surrender, joy–Jesus’ gentle laughter echoes the 2 commandments he gave which actually survived into the King James Bible: Love “God” with all your heart, and love your neighbor as yourself. David, your work has helped me and many in some very interesting ways:-) May your joy and peace expand and extend always.

Hi David! What a wonderful interview that inspires my life and bring a change in life. I enjoyed it and I have also learnt something from this and I believe as many people listening to this, they will also get inspired I love and like it. May God strength you and increase in your ministry.

    Dear DavidPaul,
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful interview. I am totally with you. You were completely open, honest and honoring yourself and others. There’s still a lot of old conditionings, fear and feelings of unworthyness around, but I’m sure Love is calling all of us and your words will for sure have touched some peoples hearts or at least sowed some seeds. For myself it was very encouraging to hear how you are naturally following one clear way. Thanks again!
    With Love from the Sinai,
    Vimala

    David,
I LOVED listening to this audio. It answered some questions for me as to what some Christians believe. Your responses articulated much of what I believe, but haven’t been able to give such a clear voice to. Your responses were so clear and certain and in no way sounded defensive. You never perceived attack, but lovingly responded from such certainty that I was left wondering why anyone would want to disagree! Would you not have done the interview if you had done the preliminary research? I’m glad it worked out this way because I found it very helpful.
Thank you for shining your light!
    Jane

David Doyle as long as you have served our risen LORD Jesus you should realize that there are many belivers that their way is the only way.
Mr. Parker, thoughts are well intentioned, but Christians have not come to the realizeation that; “Salvation is God’s Justification to Man! It is though Santification is how we should live our Salvation.” Man kind wants to be spoon fed he does not like the anwsers and actions that are required of him.
David Doyle keep up the good work, I know you hear the same voice I hear everyday of my life. David Doyle the Holy Spirit is around us to serve us. It does require one to ask it of the Lord! Just as your children have needs that which you may see that they need, but you can not go and do or give it to them until they ask. It requires one to say YES “Y”ou “E”stablishing “S”elf!!!

Another “Absolute” to know if it is of the Lord. Just as you outlined in your answer about your teaching being that of Satan.
God is LOVE anything that does not protray that emotion serves Evil. If the answer is not an Absolute just as all of Jesus’s answrs were ABOSULUTES. The truth can not be the truth until it is an ABSOLUTE!
Please ask your self what is the root of all EVIL. It is an acknoymn of itself- “E”nsuring “V”anity “I”n “L”ife.
Mr. Parker, see a nick in his armor sheild, you are the rust that is eating it up. The only reason any Christian would take up the weapon of hurt, is out of envy. When one walks with GOD one understands that what God wants of MAN is a fellowship. God has not had this fellowship since the Garden of Eden.
Evil must exist so that man can choose. This is the only way that God can get a true following. The fruit opened man’s eyes, but slammed the door shut on his heart.
Please keep one thought in mind. There is so much that GOD wants to teach those that listen. The Bible used as a guide for daily devotionals, proves a spring board and direction for GOD to direct us to what he wants you to learn on your daily walk.

Please David Paul Doyle cut the phase “You Know” NO they do not know, it requires you show, tell and live the santification.

    Stan Mc Elveen

  • It’s great to hear from you, Stephen! It’s been a long time. Thank you for your observations. I appreciate it. So good to hear that you are going to be in San Francisco. I’ll see you in a few days! Blessings to you, DavidPaul

  • Thank you, Jesse. I’m so glad to hear it. It sounds like you are a student of “The Way of Mastery” or perhaps Jayem. Is that true? Just a guess. 🙂

Thank you for all the love that you bring into the world!

  • I’m glad to hear it. Thanks Philip.

  • Thanks, Vimala. I’m glad to hear it. It’s nice to receive everyone’s comments and to know that it inspired people. Out of love to you!

  • Thanks Jane. I’m so glad that people are perceiving the interview so positively. I didn’t really know what people would think. Thanks for taking the time to listen to it and share your experience with me. It’s definitely inspiring me to want to share this interview with even more people. Lots of love to you, Jane. 🙂

Love conquered, I pray that he chooses to allow Love to settle within him. Love is eternal … blissfully time has no relevance.

  • Thank you, Stan. I agree with you that Mr. Park is very well-intentioned. I believe that Christians are following their hearts just like everybody else, and just like everybody else, we are always evolving day by day in our relationship with God, love, and ourselves. It’s all and evolutionary journey for each us. We are all deepening our experience of love and truth day by day. Blessings to you my friend!

  • Amen 🙂

  • Scmills7

David, I feel you answered all the the questions well. There are many ways to answer the questions that were asked and I feel you well represented the perspective of Universal love and acceptance. I know because of where I’m at I might have been a bit more confrontational because I still hold some resentment toward those who proclaim the dogma of Christianity. However, I feel you came straight from the heart of love and I believe that is because you have such a deep connectiveness to love as that has been your practice for so long. In the end, I feel that only the truth is true and only the truth will stand once the veil of illusion is removed and from what I heard in the interview you are playing a significant role in that process. I hope to do the same as I know I will as well as all of us. Thanks be to God for the unchangeable truth!

  • Tracyinthehills

I enjoyed everything you had to say DavidPaul. You did a fantastic job of tempering your response as the host tried to undermine your beliefs and save you from the ‘devil’..
The voice of God was clearly speaking thru you ! Thanks for all you do…
    With love,
    Tracy

  • Thank you. I appreciate it. It’s true, those questions could be answered in countless different ways. Love expresses to each of us uniquely. Just keep allowing it to express through you however it sounds. 🙂 blessings to you.

  • Thanks Tracy!

  • Jill

DavidPaul, You did a great job answering the questions you were asked, and explaining your understanding of Unconditional Love, Holy Spirit, Jesus, and God. Bravo! I did not perceive any attack in that interview. Mr. Parker did a good job of asking questions from his current belief system. I believe that you have planted a good seed in fertile soil with that interview. There may be an untold number of people listening to that program that may open to the possibility that they and their loved ones are unconditionally loved by God. What could be better than that?! God bless you for your courage in sharing that Love with us!!

  • James

    Greetings DavidPaul,

I appreciated your interview and answers. It is unfortunate that you were catch off guard. I could tell there was a turning point in your answers and when you were more comfortable. One comment that I may say, while it is great to talk to Christians about what the Course teaches, the two will never say the same thing – the Course and today’s Christianity. Christianity is based on sacrifice. It demands there be sacrifice to redeem the guilty. I loved your answers and I think they were perfect answers for Christians, or anyone, so Great Job.

  • Good to hear from you, Jill. thanks for your kind words. I agree, Mr. Parker did a great job. I thought he was very professional and I was not feeling attacked. I could feel that he was challenged, but he was not attacking.

I hope you’re doing well! 🙂 Lots of love to you.

  • Good to hear from you, James. It’s been a while. I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂 wishing you well!

  • Maura

DavidPaul, How absolutely beautiful this interview was,the experience i had in listening was, commonality you both shared in your love for god, both unique divine expressions, both in oneness of being in service with god, I also felt towards the latter part of the interview, some spark of truth resonated with mr parker, light of hope, maybe a beginning of a new understanding,How Lovely, thank you.

  • Trish

David Paul…..you did a wonderful…WONDERFUL job!!! I felt your love beaming through. You were clear and spoke to the Interviewer at the level he could understand. I felt that he really didn’t know how to respond. Typically, Christians always come back to the same exact lines they were told and if one does not agree exactly to those specific words they are being led by the “devil”. I have in some ways experienced what you have experienced in speaking with people who have a very strong belief system…which is perfectly ok. It is their path at this time.

This interview taught me how to speak more simply and articulate more clearer without getting to much into The Course of Miracles book. You and I know it is very difficult to feed a baby a steak so one has to go slow and methodical through each comment. Your love and passion was so clear to me as you spoke ….and I felt fear and judgement from the Interviewer. You planted many seeds for thought and the Holy Spirit will water them and eventually we will all get there.

Thank you ..thank you …and I am most grateful for the work you and Candice do. It really helps.:)

  • Thanks Maura 🙂 I appreciate it. Speak with you tonight! 🙂 ( Assuming this is the same are I know. How many Maura’s could there be? 🙂

  • Thank you Trish. I’m grateful that you took that away from the interview. It definitely helped that I had just spoken to someone who believed nearly exactly the same just days before for several hours on the chair lift while I was skiing 🙂 we would talk for 8 min., do a ski run together, talk for another 8 min. on the chair lift, etc. I think it helped to prepare me 🙂 blessings to you.

  • Lynda

Unable to pull it up. Would have really liked to listen. I’ll see if I can do it another way.

  • Anonymous

You were a clear and present model of Holy Spirit and Love. This “interview” was like opening a dictionary to reveal the inner, deeper meaning of conventional theological terms. What a blessing.

  • Carole

I would like to say that Jane echoed my feelings. Well done to you. The love you expressed was just wonderful. I also am wondering how anyone could disagree with what you had to say. Your responses were loving and insightful and will hopefully bless many who listen to them.

  • Roger

DavidPaul … I was both moved and inspired by the love you expressed throughout this interview. You expressed your deep spiritual understanding with great clarity . As you so rightly state it is often the semantics, our understanding of the words, that often create the perceived divisions between us. As a ” professed Christian” , who also has had and continues to have a direct relationship with God, any and all expressions of God’s love is something for us all to rejoice in.Perhaps mankind would be better served if we focus on that which unifies us and less on that which separates us.The testament of human kinds History can attest to the results of creating division. If anyone has difficulty in feeling the beauty and perfection of God’s message being expressed through you by the Holy Spirit I find it very sad. Your eldest brother, Jesus had a similar problem, we all know how the religious authorities of that time dealt with His expression of Love. Keep being the Love and bringing the Light and know that you are not alone…and so it is.

  • Jack Hrabak

DavidPaul — I think you were great! And that’s probably because I agree with everything you said. But beware of Born-Again Christians. My mother became “born again” and her favorite saying (which she said to me even after I had grown up and left the nest) was, “Accept Christ or burn in Hell” and she liked to add, “Hell is forever, Jack.” She never would have accepted the concept that the Spirit of God is within. And she died a horrible death.

  • Martha

Wow. An amazing interview. Such clarity, you never stumbled. And what a nice, well meaning man in Mr. Parker. He never argued with you, although his beliefs were clearly at odds with what you were saying, but he just asked questions and let you talk, giving you a platform to expand the mind of his listeners. No doubt seeds were planted in his mind, and certainly in the minds of many his listeners. Surely Providence got you guys together and made sure the message got through, in the wonderful, clear, loving Voice of God through you. Thanks for letting us know about the interveiw.
    Martha

  • Barbara Cooper

    Dear David Paul,
You are such a shinging light. The love, compassion, kindness and understanding that was emitted from the energy I felt coming from you was beautiful. Don Parker’s closing words made me feel that he heard you and the love that you represent with all that you teach even though he conveyed his doubts which are likely from the teachings he has been exposed to in this lifetime. Others listening to this interview would feel the truth of love for all that you were speaking and I believe that a huge number will be drawn to the Voice for Love that resides within each one of us. Blessings in the Light of Love, Barbie

  • Sesua

David Paul..I have recently discovered you and found that listening to your interview gave me a good idea of who you are. I have been in recovery from alcholism for 22 years. The truth is the truth is the truth! It resonates through every spritual program i’m in, and it resonates thru you. He was a typical christian that believes God is outside us, and therefore cannot except that peace is attainable here on Earth. Loved what you said about the ego being the devil. You really spoke about the 12 steps of my program. Fear, judgement, anger and self-centeredness, all character defects defended by the ego. Very good interview, considering all the uncomfortable pauses you had to jump in and cover for his inept radio personality. He really didnt defend his beliefs either. Maybe he was having a hard time debating what you were saying? How can you argue with someone who proclaims love?

  • thanks Eric

  • Thanks Roger :-). So do you consider yourself a practicing Christian? Do you go to a Christian church? If so, do you think what I share the interview would be acceptable at your church?

  • Good to hear from you, Jack. Yes, born-again Christians are very staunch in their beliefs. They have good intentions nonetheless, as we all do. Blessings to you my friend!

  • I’m glad you enjoyed it, Martha. Yes, I was pretty impressed that he allowed me to speak so much. Thanks for sharing your feedback with me.

  • Hi Barbie 🙂 good to hear from you. Glad you enjoyed it! Give your husband a big hug for me.

  • I’m glad to hear that my talk resonated with the 12 steps. thanks for sharing your feedback with all of us. Blessings to you!

  • Sophie

    Dear DavidPaul,

I hesitated to listen to the interview because I still have quite some trouble to deal with this kind of tension. But it was great. I really admire your calmness and I understand how you chose to speak the language of the person you are talking to. I was feeling defensiveness on Don’s side and I would have loved to know more about his own experience and how he discerns the three voices.
I was surprised about the not reading books part. When you said that you felt that you didn’t need to seek more information, that felt right to me. Yet, I feel that reading “New Age” or self-help books serves me as a reminder of how I want to deal with myself and the world. I couldn’t really say that it is new information everytime, and I like the way it always boils down to the same thing. I enjoy seing the one thing, the love consciousness, from different angles through different persons’ eyes and also expressed in different words.
Thank you for sharing the interview. I realized how I can be very easily shaken when someone challenges or critizises my beliefs or my way of dealing with things. That’s when I doubt my capacity to discern the voices and tend to worry wether I have been mistaken. But still, I feel that I am developping more trust in my listening and discernment skills.

    Warm greetings from Germany,
    Sophie

  • RGRDNPRTY

You really held it together dear friend. Thank you for showing me the way to express myself in a positive nad non-threatening way. So many of the questions you were asked I have been asked and only some of the answers were teh same. I love the way you supported his path while holding strong to your own truth and the LOVE OF GOD.

  • Birdonawire12321

Jesus told us that the 10 commandments were part of the “old law.” They do not lead us to a spiritual life. There are 2 commandments; to love God with your whole heart and soul and your neighbor as yourself. We are not the “sons of God” we are all part of the “Son of God.” There is only ONE. Thank you.

  • Thank you for your reply, Sophie. I really appreciate it. Keep up the great job!

  • Thank you. It sounds like it takes one to know one 🙂 thanks for holding fast to your own as well.

  • and so it is… amen

  • Roger

I am a practicing Christian, however I respect all faith groups and like you see God’s expression in all.I enjoy the praise and worship with others as an expression of my relationship with God within the Christian faith.I love the music as an expression of praise.I know that I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Whether that is through the Holy Spirit or not is not a concern for me.As you so rightly stated Jesus left the Holy Spirit here to be our comforter and helper in order that we could even do miracles greater than His. It is my desire to emulate Jesus as a perfect example,in my own life and be the love that He is. I often wonder how Jesus would feel about our inability to love others due to the differing perceptions that we adhere to. My goodness, how many denominations and groups are there that profess to “know Jesus” Who feel that they have the only “right answer-the right truth”? Perhaps on some level they are all perfect in their seeking of their truth.
In my view, At the end of the day whatever you believe is all about the Truth that is God for you. I study the Bible daily and putting aside semantics, I realize that the Bible was written to the understanding of the people at the time . I can’t speak to the individual understanding of other Christians that I know .I suspect that they would be challenged by your beliefs. Within my own spiritual understanding I do not feel conflicted in anyway by the views you expressed as in my view, your beliefs are not inconsistent with what is expressed in the Bible or by Jesus himself. At the deepest level of understanding there is a unity of the Spirit in all of this. How can God who is love not love us unconditionally. Why do we feel such a need to create a God in our image? Your message of love should resonate with all of those who truly know Jesus and reflect Him in their daily life, as it is a perfect reflection of His message of Love!

  • Ingrid

I really enjoyed listening. My own beliefs resonate much more with yours than those of Don’s, but you both handled it very well. I also was very happy that Don allowed you to speak your truth, even though his own beliefs are different.
    Love and Light, Ingrid.

  • Dennislesea

Thank you so much for sharing this interview with us. What a tremendous learning experience to listen to the Holy Spirit deal with a “true Christian believer” , and deal with him with so much love and understanding. Bravo! Or maybe Halleluea!— Dennis

  • David

Thank you for posting this and the interview.. your speaking and sharing has really given me more streangth and made me feel closer again to God. I have and am going through some very had times. I lost my mother after over one year of very severe medical problems and for almost 11 months helping my wife care giving for her sister who has cancer past stage 4. I feel the Holy Spirit has given me a internal wholeness, which i can’t explain. I do feel sorry for Don he seems he is on the right path but needs to experience more and get closer to God. It seems( and I’m not judging) he might be somewhat book smart but he couldn’t quote things right or express himself enough. With you ,God , Holy spirit, was using you to express what He wants for us, ie. being close to him and sharing the Grace he has given to us. This just made me think I wonder if Don knows what the word Grace is or means that is sad if he is not aware. Maybe your witnessing may make him think or search more.

Thank you for giving me the oppertunity to listen and express what I feel.
May God continue to Bless you
    David

Really great interview that gave a lot of information to those who may be searching for more. I love that you explained Jesus as hearing the Holy Spirit! You did a wonderful job, DavidPaul, thank you. There was a lot of food for thought to the interviewer and his listeners. You didn’t make him wrong in any way, you did this interview with the voice of Spirit behind you!

  • Srdemi7

Phenomenal interview. Davidpaul you did an excellent job of presenting love, compassion, and acceptance. This interview demonstrated so well the ability of both of you maintain composure during intense discussion. I feel the Holy Spirit was there for the interview. Keep up the excellent work and many blessing to you.

  • the more that time goes on, the more I see what a great job Don did. If you’re reading any of this, Don, thank you for hosting a great show and for allowing me to share my truth.

thank you Ingrid for helping me experience this even more.

  • Thank you for your kind words and sharing, David. I’m glad the interview touched your heart and help to connect even more with Holy Spirit. I send my love and blessings to you, that you may extend it to those in need in your life as well. Blessings to you all.

  • Thank you Diane. Everyone’s feedback has been very wonderful to receive. It brings me great joy. Lots of love to you.

In truth, there was only one Christian, and he died on the cross.
    Friedrich Nietzsche
    German philosopher (1844 – 1900)

Of course, I believe Jesus didn’t really die because God cannot die. But, you get the point. Much of what Don said was what drove me from organized religion. I believe that we will all return to God/Spirit/Source one way or another and we are all on our own path. Devil? Only in our minds.

You did a nice job of communicating your beliefs/knowing, DavidPaul and you were supportive of Don too. God is Love. You conveyed that.

Your interview is dead on , I would have liked you to be able to expand wth more of your personal views of our relationships , visions,vs. sight GOD as ONE with a forgiven world RICH and BLESSED . I admire you for your faith . Also would have liked to hear more of A Course in Miracles mentioned and its coheseveness with the bible. I personally find no conflict between the two books, so long as I am reading the bible with an open mind, looking for the intent of the author spiritually. I hope to hear from you with a petsonal reply, but you may do so publicly if you wish you may use me or my NAME in any way you choose as I AM totally ONE with ALL God Bless you David Paul Dan McCurdy

Even though I already left a very small comment yesterday, I ‘d like to say a little more. As I woke up this morning I immediately thought of this interview. It was very helpful for me, for I have many Christian friends, and even visit a church now and then where i know people, love the music, and can hear an inspiring sermon at times. I do not do this often, but I have no conflict with it. I honor my Christian friends, and this interview helps me even better to express myself with the occasional person who may want to go into an argument, although my friends are not like that , really. But some are just interested. When I was much younger and going through a very hard and painful occurrence, there was more well intended pressure from some Christians to join them, but seldom that was a long time ago. I was born in The Netherlands a country where many in history fled to for its freedom of religion. I believe there is more than one path home, for humans are born all over the world in countries with different religions and I was more interested in what they have in common than in what they can fight with each other about. I LOVE the poem of Rumi that says: “Outside ideas of right doing and doing wrong there is a field. I’ll meet you there”. Not judging is about not arguing about who is right and who is wrong. Let’s live in the questions and find our guidance, rather than live in boxed in opinion. I was thinking how delightful it was, (and I was really impressed too!) how respectful you were with Don. I am sure that you were apart in enabling him to stay calm and respectful as well, even though he thinks you are “wrong”, which is obvious, but he handled it well also. and did not pressure you to convert but honored your freedom of choice.

Hi DavidPaul, thank you so much for sending me this interview. Listening to it twice i feel the love filling me, softening me, encouraging me, inspiring me, comforting me. Up until now i kept having doubts about my ability to hear or feel the Holy Spirit, but somehow i feel the doubts left me. To me that is the greatest gift. You made it very clear that it is easier and closer than i thought. So thank you, thank Don and thank God! Warm greetings and a big hug from The Netherlands, Liesbet

Thank you Roger for your your above response, beautifully said.

  • Vivian

Hi DavidPaul, I appreciated hearing this interview also, I’m so grateful for the way you responded to Don’s questions. It was clear there was a difference in your experiences and view points, and you never showed any signs of defensiveness, but rather accepted Don where he was at and extended your love. I have to also say that I was impressed by Don’s composure, it gives me hope for the future of humanity to hear this exchange that ended in a loving way from both vantage points, which connect in the centre.

    Namaste, Vivian

  • Melinda

As always, you are well-spoken and loving in your communication. You come across as accepting of Don and yet confident of what is true for you. Your spiritual faith is so alive and palpable. I think you handled yourself in the truest sense of what might be called “christian”. You attacked no one and may have healed many . . . I am glad you spoke with this man. He is worthy of love. My favorite part: I know that I am safe and (I paraphrase) I know you are too. Fear, and the need to be “safe” compels attack. Knowing our safety and security in God supports us to act with love and expansiveness. You did a beautiful, comforting job. My mother has asked me some of the same questions that Don did of you. I have always felt either tongue tied or defensive–neither have worked. Tongue tied comes across as tacit agreement, defensiveness as attack. You accepted Don and found common ground.

My learnings: Choose love, choose peace, choose again, . . . repeat. I am setting down the knew age books. I am turning inward and listening.

Now to apply all of what I learned in the next conversation with my mother(conservative Christian–her description).:) I am hopeful that a healing will take place. Thanks for the “living” lesson and example.

    Love,
    Melinda

  • thank you 🙂

  • Thanks Jeri! Great quote.

  • Thanks for your kind words, Dan. I appreciate it. even though I am a big fan of the Course, I usually don’t talk about it very often because then it becomes about “the book,” or “a book,” as opposed to a direct experience, which is what our work with The Voice for Love is all about. Our primary aim is to give people the techniques the Holy Spirit has given us for directly experiencing that voice within. That is what I’m most passionate about because over many many years, I see that the five steps we were given impact people’s lives more than anything else I’ve ever seen or been a part of: http://www.thevoiceforlove.com/voice-of-god.html.

Many blessings to you Dan! Keep up the great work.

  • I’m so glad the interview touched you in the way that it has, Ingrid. And thank you, as well, for wanting to deepen your experience of hearing God’s voice in your life. I look forward to sharing our five step process with you. Many blessings to you!

  • That is so cool. Who would have ever thought that an interview could have that effect. Of course it’s not the interview itself, but your desire and willingness to open your heart and release whatever keeps you from The Voice for Love within you. So thank you for doing so. That’s a miracle!

  • Thank you Vivian. I certainly agree. Don was a wonderful post and helped bridge a big gap. Perhaps it’s not so big after all…

  • Leroy Walker

Communication is the key factor here, without it the Holy Spirit is seemly silent. Jesus Christ had this same problem in his day. He was constantly ask questions about his beliefs concerning tradition and the “Law”. He answered them by way of the “Universal Communicator”, which is The Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit answers our questions in the here and now not the past or future. When we talk to the Holy Spirit about anything, His answer will not be “thou shalt not”. Nevertheless as you well put it, we are where we are and there is no need for shame about that.

  • Thank you, Melinda. Just remember this. Our beliefs have nothing to do with who we are, our relationship with God, our success in the world, or anything else. Truly, our beliefs do not impact us at all. They may impact our experience, but our experience has nothing to do with the truth. Our experience is ours alone and doesn’t change anything about who we really are, our safety, our connection, or anything else. Our ego experiences and beliefs are designed to give us the experience of what it “would be like” to be separate from God, but they actually don’t separate us in any way. They just give us an experience. But that experience is meaningless when it comes to who we are and our connection. So it doesn’t really matter what people think or belief in the world. They are not separate from God and never will be. They are not lost and they never will be. They are not stuck and they never will be. Our beliefs don’t change anything except our experience. And we’re here precisely to give ourselves an experience we could get no other way. So it’s really all good, all the time, for everyone.

  • Thank You, David Paul CHRIST, for allowing Holy Spirit to speak through You in a consistant manner.

Blessings Of Inner Peace and Love to You and ALL, Eternally ! ! !
Hollis CHRIST (As everyone is in TRUTH)

    inform the world about this.

With full respect to any religious person, christian or other. I respect all of your views and beliefs. This conversation was a great eye opener for him and the christian community. Even though they have they’re own views, all that you said makes so much more sense than all the lies that any religious group has told us over the years. Christian Muslim whatever the group may be, they were all made to divide us. Make us believe we are different and not part of the same source. What you teach and preach is exactly what needs to be made manifest in this world. God is everything…. Good and Bad Light and Dark…. He is the master of all things in this universe. And each of us is a part of him, well every single thing seen and unseen are part of him and we are all connected. So let’s just love everyone and everything and lets let go of what we think is true and let god show us what truly is true, by letting him…. he’s already inside all of us… Oh and i just wanted to say that Yes JESUS was a great soul but I think we are all just as special and powerful and magical and whatever else you want to add to JESUS’s resume… We are the same type of soul, we are all equals. He was just more evolved or more connected to source. And now in this new age of thinking, we shall all become our own versions of the great soul that was JESUS. Don’t get me wrong I am not taking anything from Jesus, I am merely stating that we are just as great and loving and beautiful and perfect as he is. We just choose not to be. Like you said in the interview….. We are always connected to god, we just choose to connect and disconnect with our actions and intent. Love and Light to all and sorry if I bored or offended anyone. Thank you..Love Love and More Love to EVERYTHING.

  • Freeportgrammy

This morning I told the Holy Spirit i want to know more about Him. I googled in Holy Spirit and got your website the voice for love. Very Interesting. I agree with a whole lot of what you said on the talk show with Don. As I listened, I listened with my inner man. (the Holy Spirit) But I am not clear on how you come up with Jesus as less than the Holy Spirit and God. The only way to God is through Jesus, becasue man lost that direct relationship via Adam and Eve. Jesus died on the cross to restore mankind relationship back to God, and then Jesus left the earth and returned to God but sent the Holy Spirit to live within us to teach and guide us into all Truth. You bless me with the love factor that we all should have, but DavidPaul PLEASE don’t dis Jesus, include Him, in the love connection you have going on. God is love and Jesus and the Holy Spirit is one with God so are we one with Jesus and God and the Holy Spirit. You are on the right track, but your leaving Jesus too far behind and that will cause a detour somewhere along the road of life. KEEP SHARING THE LOVE OF GOD to others, but its God, Jesus and God’s HOly Spirit that governs this universe. Much Love and Blessings, Laverne -Bahamas

  • Montemor Carlos

Hey Friend how r u this wonderful day? I just read what you wrote about Jesus and I just wanted to make a comment if it’s ok…. with all respect to what you believe to be true (because everyone’s reality is their own.). I just think that DavidPaul is trying to get us to understand that We are not more than Jesus and Jesus isn’t less, he’s just saying that we also have it in us to be as PURE or Perfect as the soul that was named Jesus when he was incarnate here. Not taking anything from the energy that is Jesus, Just giving mankind more. It’s not about dissing Jesus, but strengthening the human being. The ones who control the world don’t want us to know that we as individuals are a lot more powerful than what we are made to believe. It’s about controlling the masses so that the few can do as they please. But with our new age of awareness right around the corner, we are learning that they’ve been tricking us all this time. Plus, all the stories in the Bible stem from more ancient stories from Sumeria and other lost civilizations. From the story of Jesus to Adam & EVE to Noah and the deluge. Egypt Rome and many others just changed the name of the entities but the base of the story stays the same. So, don’t believe everything you read in a book…. any book, all books were written by man. and Plus, My god doesn’t need a chariot of fire to reach me. HE IS ALL THAT IS HERE….. From me and you to this computer im using, to the air trees and my clothes. Everything is GOD so I don’t need to go to a church either to talk to him. I just need to talk. The problem with religion, any religion is that they tell you that you have to believe in everything preached there. and you may never look at another religion for other information because if you do then your going against your god or your current religion. And that’s how they get us to know a little bit of the truth and not the whole truth, because they divided the truths in between all religions and made them all them hate each other so that no-one looks at all religions and comes up with the true original story of the gods….. Sorry if i offended you with anything I said. Thank you for your comment and thanks for respecting my views as i respect yours. I’m not saying your wrong or I’m right cuz I didn’t… what is written here is my own personal truth that I am sharing, you take what you want from it, like I took what i wanted from your beliefs. LOVE and LIGHT to you and all around you friend, Bless you and good luck on your journey to finding the truth.

  • Maurits_

hi david, wanting these comments only can feed ego, they do not, but they do.
Speak more this and then find yourself.
No you have the insight, now lets go.
correct me if am wrong, but

  • Leroy, nice reply. Thank you so much for sharing! Blessings to you

  • Thanks Hollis! It takes one to know one 🙂

  • Thank you so much, Montemor, for sharing such love and truth with us. I appreciate it! Keep up the great work my friend!

  • Thank you, Montemor, for sharing your experience in reply to the above sharing. I’ve been out of town for the past four days have not been able to comment.

Thank you, Freepotgrammy, for sharing your experience as well. I will comment briefly:

Firstly, I don’t ever remember saying Jesus is less than the Holy Spirit and God. That is not my experience. We are all part of the Holy Spirit and God, and God and Holy Spirit are part of us. There is no separation, and nothing can exist outside of God, so we are all the same essence, spirit, and being that God is.

Jesus, in my opinion, is an expression of God. Yes he “is” God as well, since everything “is,” but the actual personality and human lifetime of “Jesus” is simply an expression of the Love that God is, of the Holy Spirit that is part of Creation. The consciousness and Beingness that Jesus expressed during his lifetime still exists and has not disappeared. The body of Jesus no longer exists because all expressions of God in this world are temporary. but the essence, spirit, and Beingness that Jesus expressed in the world is eternal, formless, and ever present.

Now everything I just said above is equally true for You, Me, and every expression in the world, which includes every single person in the world. You are not your body. Your body is an expression of Who you really are, which is eternal spirit/beingness. The Holy Spirit’s consciousness is part of your Beingness. It is part of who you are and is available to you and everyone else right now, in every moment.

So we all have the opportunity to go within and access Holy Spirit as our pathway home to God just as Jesus did. We are all equals and we all have the same opportunity to hear only the Holy Spirit and follow only the voice of God within.

I love Jesus. He is my friend and teacher. However, I can directly communicate with the Holy Spirit myself. I don’t have to go through Jesus to do that. Jesus said, he will give us a Comforter. He will give us the Holy Spirit of God to guide us home. And that is what I am doing, and that is what I’m helping others to do as well.

    Many blessings to you! and

  • I’m not 100% sure what you’re saying, but I will try to respond. First of all, I don’t “want” or “not want” these comments. I am not attached, nor do I have the expectation, that people should comment. At the same time, expressing our experiences with one another has the opportunity to lead to healing. All things in the world can be used to give us an experience of being separate separate, and all things in the world can be used to restore us to the awareness of God. Everything in the world is equal in this regard. It is how one relates to anything that determines whether it is bringing them further away from an experience of love/God, or closer to it. If you relate to something with the ego, it will strengthen your experience of separation. If you relate to something with Holy Spirit, it will strength in your experience of Truth, Oneness, Love, and God, which are all Who/What you truly are.

Hi, DavidPaul, Great job staying in love and not defending. You were direct and clear. You noted that his audience may not have liked what you said, but who knows who was listening and needed your message. I’m sure the part about unconditional love not being in the Bible struck a chord with many Christians who long for unconditional love. “We do not know what anything is for,” according to Lesson 25 in A Course in Miracles, but I’m sure the Holy Spirit is using this interview for good. Blessings, Lorri Coburn

  • Thank you Lorri. 🙂 lots of love to you

Wow…kudos to both of you for what seemed to be a “Love Extending Marathon”. Don probably wanted to make a meal out of you based on what he said about his negative review of your book. I suspect he couldn’t because of your loving demeanour and candor during the interview. It was beautiful to listen to two people have a coherent and reaction-free discussion about something so vitally important to each but which each interpreted differently, to put it mildly. I’ve always had trouble empathizing with people and wanting to help others, to my own detriment…and I couldn’t help but feel a deep sadness when Don said that all he knew in the world was conditional love. The sound of his voice when he said it almost drove me to tears. I wanted to reach through my computer to do something to help him…but instead I reached inside and asked for some help to better interpret the situation. Thanks to Jason for mentioning the interview and thanks to DavidPaul for giving me the link. I’m better for it.

I’ve realized in the last year or so that one of the most important things anyone can do for me is to provide me with constructive criticism of what I believe. In fact, I would progress a lot quicker on this path if I had more people to discuss my ideas with who could challenge me about them and perhaps show me where they were weak in thier eyes. This would force me to really make sure I understand my beliefs and force me to more clearly state what I believe. When DavidPaul asked us to comment on this interview I think he did it with that philosophy in mind. Destructive criticism could be seen as egoic when not supported and few benefit (a judgement I know 🙁 ), but constructive criticism gives us all a chance to get a little further along on the path. For instance, I had not only think about where you were coming from with the comment you posted Maurits…but I also had to think about how to best respond so you would feel comfortable posting another comment, which I would greatly like to read. I’m sure I read in ACIM that not only is the purpose of the body for communication but that communication itself was one of our main purposes while in the body. At any rate…I’m grateful for the opportunity to discuss this. Thanks.

  • Good for you for catching your judgment and going within to heal it. That’s what it’s all about.

I’m glad you guys liked the interview 🙂

  • Sheila Bush

DavidPaul, that was AWESOME!  Total peace and love, and absolutely no shred of FEAR whatsoever!  Holy Spirit spoke through you with clarity and certainty.  I love and honor the confidence with which you spoke and that place and space from which you were breathing.  I also love and honor the place and space in which the interviewer was speaking and breathing, as I sent him LOVE and the Peace which is beyond all understanding.  This interview blessed me beyond words….

    Thank you, Holy Spirit!  Amen!!!

  • So glad you enjoyed it, Sheila. I had totally forgotten about this interview and then I ran across it today and figured I would share it anew 🙂 thanks for sharing your appreciation. Lots of love to you!

  • i just imagine the Holy Spirit going like: ‘well, i sort of believe this personally’. that would be my only critique, lots of miracles were extended between two equally adorable Children of God.

it’ll be my turn soon, replying to my christian friends & family. how sweet…

  • Heart4thesouth

there is a lot to think about in this interview. I have searched in many beliefs looking for the exact teaching that would bring peace into my life, my heart, my day, my soul. I grew up with a fearful upbringing. My dad was addicted, and my mother was very fearful. I learned that was the way to respond to life. It has came naturally, it has been un-natural and foreign to not expect to be abused, put down and rejected. I have tried to live up to all of those teachings. I  learned about the Triune beings that we are. Spirit, Soul and body. I have pondered within myself all the fear, fear, fear and the questioning of what God’s expectation is to merit heaven and not hell! And it has not ever been enough to please everyone of every denomination. I know the Holy Spirit is the voice of God, I have felt my body shake with the power of God. I know in other times even the most lost ones– God has met them exactly in the middle of their mess and pulled them out of it, he was the only one with the power to do that. There is a play on words from the bible in some faith walks. I have spent my life in abject fear, I can not do that anymore. I especially like what you shared about” by their fruits they are known” that is in the bible and that is one of my litmus test, too.You said it differently, but your wording of is it? loving, helpful, patient, kind, to another person or is it unkind, jealous, is exactly the way I see it too.  I have known God’s ministry to me even as a young child, woman, when I lost my daughter @ 4 days old. God was present to me in the hosp. I did nothing of myself to deserve that– but the presence of God comforted me. There is a lot I don’t understand. I have spent my life scared of the Devil and hell, and that just does not seem fitting to me/ if in fact, God is love. The peace that I have and am beginning to experience is sweet and  no one can convince me it is not of God and the Trinity. I don’t understand it all, but we are all on our own journey– thank you for sharing the interview. Mary C.

  • Thanks for making me chuckle, Hans…. 🙂 it’s good that you are not taking it all too seriously 🙂

  • Thank you for following your heart, Mary. That’s the most important thing you can do! Love will never steer you wrong… blessings to you.

AN AMAZING INTERVIEW – BROUGHT SUCH INSIGHT /UNDERSTANDING OF  WHAT LIES BEHIND THE “RIGHT OR SMITE” SYSTEM .
I APPLAUD YOU BOTH FOR THE SINCERE EXPRESSION OF YOUR BELIEF SYSTEMS.

Catholicism: Everything David Paul said here is in alignment with Catechism except for a temporary after life Hell. But even with that Pope John Paul II said ” Rather than a place, hell indicates the state of those who freely and definitively separate themselves from God, the source of all life and joy.” Which is clearly what David Paul said.

  • MT

And I want to say that I hope I can completely become absorbed in Gods love like David Paul too. What a blessing that would be.

  • Thank you very much for your sharing. I did not know that the pope said that. Do you know where you saw that quote from? Many blessings to you.

  • Yolande

Excellent!  I shared this with many of my  friends.  God bless!

  • Kameron Pecka – Tracy, CA

Wow DavidPaul – this interview is just what I needed to hear.  Before I found your site and books, I had an experience of hearing God, and knowing in that moment that I am in heaven.  It blew my mind and I wanted to share that feeling of love with everyone.  In fact I became so joyful many folks thought I had lost my mind.  Somewhere along that path I lost touch with the voice due to doubt and fear that I could possibly be mislead by the “devil” I’ve been taught to fear since I was 4 years old – meanwhile the devil was deceiving me all along and ultimately I fell back into creating my own literal hell of fear, doubt, regret, anger, sadness and despair.  By fearing such a thing as loving too much I became afraid again.  Multiple points in this interview really rang out to me.  That is:  I truly have nothing to fear but fear itself and that love ALWAYS trumps fear.  Thank you so much for putting meaning to my experience of two years ago!!  I’ve been searching for this for soooooo long and just when I needed these valuable life-changing tools I found your site.

Many Blessings to you and Candace! 😀

  • So glad to hear about your experience. How wonderful. Thank you for filling my heart with gratitude. Blessings to you!!

  • sabah

I loved all the loving answer to the interviewer’s Question, it was awesome!specially your opinion about heal, heaven, evil and the fact that we all have the potential to be like Jesus.
You are right David Paul, love and forgiveness is the voice of God,and anger, hatred and resentment the voice of ego.
Some years ago God helped me to forgive the person who took my 18 years old son’s life and after that I am experiencing love, and I am greatful of this experience.

    God bless you
    Sabah

  • Wow. What a powerful experience of forgiveness. Thank you for your willingness to forgive and restore your heart and mind to God’s love. You are an inspiration! Thank you.

  • Stephen

The Pharisees didn’t like Jesus either.  This all fits perfectly with my Mormon faith. Truth and love are the same thing.  Beauty is truth and truth is beauty.

  • GainD5

David Paul, is the devil reincarnated.  His deception is sly, suttle and inticing to those who do not know scripture. that’s his job and he is good at it.  If you follow Jesus, you don’t need leaders of nonsense.  He did not hear from God, he is hearing demon spirits, and he is trying to sucker others to the pit with him.

  • Faithy

I have been blessed many times to have heard the Holy Spirit ~and when you hear it, you know unconditionally that it is the Holy Spirit! Your videos have just enhanced me more spiritually ~ and your faith didn’t waver at all, your voice was very strong and confident~

  • Nataša Marovic

Dear David Paul, i was astonished how your responded to questions in love, even when the questions were clearly provocative. It was really strange how can you so persistantly stay in love. I think Christians are to much in terms do it right and perhaps stuck in Old testament teachings but in 1 Corinthians it is clear that Love is above all. I have made often a conclusion, what a profit of all these scriptures, teachings, achieving to be right when you loose this wonderful touch with God who is love! Many Christians are hurt me because they had not experience of Gods love but have by heart learned scriptures and doctrines and when situation came to give love, understanding, patience, money, ear that listen they were uncapable to do that and i was so unhappy and i wandered why God, why is it so. Because they were in mind, not in heart where God is. Ok, i will not judge them because they simply not experienced Gods love in some kind of measure. God is not only dead word, God is alive and wonderful, carying, compassionate friend. God is not some kind of rule but spirit and love. And Bible clearly says, ALL WILL VANISH BUT LOVE WILL ONLY STAY, and THAT WE ONLY SEE PARTIALY NOW, BUT WILL SEE IN HEAVEN ALL OF THE GODS LOVE. Well, we see then Gods love now partialy.
    I love you all
    Nataša

  • Georgianne Giese

DavidPaul, this was a beautiful interview. You really hit the major points with such clarity. Your answers were given with such clarity and love, and God bless the interviewer who set you up for such wonderful explainations! The two issues that block traditional Christianity, from the time of the Nicene Council onward, involve the belief that Jesus’ reality is that he was a body and that our reality is that we are a body. That in spite of the belief that we are eternal souls (split personalities?). That belief was taken to prove that this man who was so connected with God that he could ascend into heaven must be the only real Son of God and the rest of us somehow exist outside of God (which would make us very powerful as bodies!). The second major issue of contention is what led to the Protastant revolution. It was the debate about whether revelation was fixed within the solid, material form of the Bible or whether it was ongoing. You covered it all, explaining that Knosis is possible, indeed inevitable, for all of us, and you did it with such love and clarity that this interview should be held and used as a teaching device. Love you!

  • kim

Great to hear this !  I was able to witness the great quandry  between being separate from God ( and in complete obeyance of the commandments )  and being together with God in complete obeyance of the commandments.  Two very different states of being –  and it was shown in spades in the interview.  Praise you both !

  • Linda

What came across to me was the deep despair of the person who was interviewing you.  A voice crying out in the desert “Why not me?”.  “I have kept all your commandments, as I have learnt them from the Bible, and still I don’t experience the living waters of God.”  And the other strong emotion that came across was fear.  “I have held on to my beliefs without deviation, had faith and preached to others of Jesus Christ, if I let go of all this I would be cast adrift like a ship without a sail or rudder.”  But, of course, the New Testament is a fragmented, diluted and censored version of the original text and that itself was written after Jesus was crucified.  So much of the Truth and the Light in it is hidden.
Blessings and love to you DavidPaul and to Candace.  Thank you for both being channels for the Light and Love of God to pour through.
May all dogma be changed into spirituality in this great year of unfolding and ascending consciousness.

  • Jay_venture

I so enjoyed this interview – I accept all you taught and I hope in my challenges to speak clearly and convey the message of divine love, I do as well as you.

  • Toni

Thank you for sending this link to interview.  I was actually pretty entertained as you presented your truth in the face of someone trying to call you “the devil,” in essence.  Yet it was sad to hear him talk about there only being conditional love from God.  Thank goodness more and more people are starting to realize the Truth of God’s undying, unwavering, and unconditional Love for every one of us.

  • Nancy

Thank you for sharing this interview with us.   How clearly you spoke TRUTH from Holy Spirit…..
LOVE not fear, JOY not sorrow, PEACE not strife, HAPPINESS not sadness.   GOD’S WILL FOR US IS PERFECT HAPPINESS!!!!!!!!!    Thank you for THE VOICE FOR LOVE that you have helped me to experience for myself, on my Path, I’ve come a long way and look forward to being guided every moment by Truth coming to me from Holy Spirit, God Himself.  How truly Blessed we all are to be ONE with God and One with everyone!!!!

    Many Blessings,

DavidPaul, I really loved every word of this interview. At first I was struck by the “low energy” of Don and his rather loaded questions. But soon it was so obvious how the truth and love of God does shine through you in all ways, in every word and that you shine that over everyone else. The interviewer was, in the end, taken also by your spirit of love, which is, of course God’s! I felt that the interviewer (unconsciously probably) hungers for the experience of God that you live in every moment. Stunning. Love, Terry in Atlanta

  • Wow! If I could speak our truth with such love, such clarity, with such(I am crying), with such conviction I would hit the streets and go where anyone would listen. Did you really used to be introverted, DavidPaul? You spoke everything that is in my heart. Thank you.

  • Thanks Jonathan 🙂 glad to hear it.

By the way, I am still an introvert, just not on this topic with those who are interested in talking about it. Then I can talk all day 🙂

Hey, that’s ironic. That is actually what I do 🙂

    Dear DavidPaul
The Bible  talk about Jesus as son of God and . Talk a several place in the Bible how Jesus will born and when and said ask anything in Jesus name from God and God will give us what we ask if it is God will as well. The Bible talk about trinity =God +Jesus+Spirit is= One
Jesus died for our sin , and who believe in Jesus and leave their sin , will be live for ever!
The Bible clearly talk about if someone do not believe Jesus as son of God do not going to have forever live.
Yes Jesus was talk by  a holy spirit and a holy spirit is God .
Sorry about my spelling I have  English as a second language  .
how can we know about God if we not reading his word what is the Bible wrote by peoples whom taught was inspired by God.
But I agree with you  if our taught is full with love and compassionate, we’re closer to God.
but the Bible talk about prophet, and apostle who was close to God  and did God will and peoples
hate them and killed them !!!     Like Jeremiah,Isaiah, John apostle . God loved them and they all was inspired by the holy spirit, but their life was not happy , and full with joy but they were is danger when they were talk god words for peoples!!
the whole Bible foundation is Jesus Christ  who manifested God on Earth!
Dear DavidPaul I like a way you talk about love .
I was studying the Bible I prayed a lot but I don’t feel a Holy spirit   talk to me. One thing for sure
when I trust God and not worrying too much God help us !maybe not a way how I imagined but
help us for our favor.and tic-hing us for trust him.
    Thank you

    Hi DavidPaul,
You did well in this interview.  I am Christian…so I guess I can see where your interviewer is coming from to a degree…but as a Catholic as well, my approach is a little less a fundamentalist one.  I found you to be humble and truthful.  Often when I’ve prayed the Rosary, when we say, “save us from the fires of hell” I’ve changed that to “save us from our experience of hell”…because I like you believe in unconditional love.
There was one story in one of the Gospels where the apostles were upset that some people were healing who were not a part of their group.  And Jesus said that that was okay.
I would say the interviewer was skeptical…he probably like you very much…he just feels sceptical through his discernment process.
The course in Miracle sits well with me.  One of the two psychiatrist wasn’t even Christian, and yet the Holy Spirit spoke directly through her.
Sometimes the Christian church has created too much fear, and a shame based approach to mistakes.  I find a more gentle and patient approach is more helpful for me to forgive myself and to remember that I am not my mistakes.
Thanks for your joyfulness, and courage in this interview.

  • Theresatakacs

Also, on Dad’s tombstone we all agreed, and I come from a family of 7 children, on the quote from 1 Corinthians 13:8.  LOVE NEVER ENDS.
Period.  Love and truth are connected, as you so clearly stated.  But that whole passage said basically, you can have everything in this world, but without love you have nothing.
Thanks for speaking the voice for Love.

  • Thank you very much for your sharing. I appreciate it very much. I love that you consider yourself Christian, Catholic, and appreciate the Course. When we can see the Truth in everything and everything, we are seeing it through God’s eyes. Thank you for doing so.

Dear DavidPaul, I was confused when I started listening to the interview. I’m a Catholic and I was like ‘what am I getting myself into?’ I listened a second time, then I had this awakening, especially when the interviewer said God’s love is conditional. I BEG TO DIFFER and the bible supports me. GOD IS LOVE so the bible says. It is His blessing that is conditional. God requires obedience to his command to love the Lord with all your might and to love your neighbor as yourself. As a love God, He doesn’t expect anything less from His creation that He made in His image and likeness. LOVE is all that is required. I can’t wait to get some of your books and CDs. Thankfully, I am coming to USA and I’m soooooo excited. God bless you both. Nana Yaa, Ghana

    Dear David Paul
I listened to this interview with my eyes closed and my heart opened, and felt deeply your connection to Love, God’s voice within you, within each one of us. In this interview, the  clarity with which you were able to convey your thoughts, and respond so lovingly, and with great compassion to a man who obviously came from a different place,a place I would describe as one of fear and judgement, was simply one of Divine Inspiration..David Paul, in this interview you have spoken a Truth that is within all of mankind, but whom few choose to listen to, and many do not even know they  have direct access to.  That which you have expressed so eloquently and with such grace in this interview,  has certainly been my Truth my entire life. Although I was brought up Catholic, and did most of my growing up in Italy, the homeland of Roman Catholicism, I never felt connected to that dogma ,that indoctrination of the church that I was subjected to as a young child .To me, God was all Loving, All forgiving, and while the church taught us to fear God, it never rung true to the dictates of my heart. How can God and fear be uttered together in one sentence, for the opposite of love, as you  so eloquently pointed out in this interview, is indeed fear.Fear has nothing to do with God, and if we are taught to fear God, as are the teachings of monolithic religions, then we are coming from a place of seperatness not only from God, but from eachother. This, in my view, constitutes the reasons behind all wars, past and present, as they are all based on the illusion of our seperatness, and of the supremacy of one religion over another.
It is sad that most Christians ,although they speak of Jesus, and know the Bible versus inside and out,do not really follow the Path of Christ, which is to be AlL Loving, without conditions of any kind .I loved your description of Christ ,of his being the perfect embodiment of the Holy Spirit, and that we can all have access to that embodiment of perfection, if so we choose. I can certainly understand why the interviewer might have had such a negative reaction to this ”equalization”between man and God, for organized religion is all about keeping God and man seperate, which of course, is the ultimate illusion.

I can only pray that your Light and your Wisdom, David Paul, conveyed through Source with such clarity, was able to touch the heart of the interviewer , and those listening to this interview, and break through the walls of dogma to allow for much needed , uncoditional love, and healing.

James Thurber(1894-1961) stated that ….”’  There are two kinds of Light in the world…..”The Glow that Illuminates….and the glare that obscures”’

May you ,along with your wife Candace, continue to bring forth that  glow of illumination to this world,to all those you encounter on your Path, through your teachings, the Love that you both embody, and the grace with which you bring forth that embodiment  to all His children ,to all of Creation. No one is left out in the cold from God’s Love……this is one of  the most significant Truths of all,….and one that gives hope even  to the hopeless.

Great Interview….one that should be shared and relflected upon!

    Love & Light

  • Thank you so much for your loving feedback and sharing, Loredana. I appreciate it very much. Thank you for the wonderful work that you do on the world! I’m grateful.

  • Ems247

I say open your heart and listen – truly listen for we all hear the voice of God!! People who say the things that you just said are speaking words that have nothing to do with love and holy spirit – they are in fact words of the “devil” – which I don’t believe in anyway.  God Bless and I pray that you too experience God’s love and come from place of compassion, tolerance, forgiveness and understanding as opposed to what you have been taught.  I invite you to have your own direct experience of God and in hearing God’s voice – listen – truly listen but to your heart.

  • Andy

David Paul, thank you. As I learned more about your beliefs through the interview, I felt more validated because of how my beliefs are so aligned with everything you said. I wish I were able to articulate as well as you do. That’s a cool name by the way. And when I mean validated, I do not mean the need to be right but on a Spiritual level. I felt a True reassurance from the Holy Spirit through your words. Actually the interview as a whole and how everything played out was astonishingly perfect when it seemed like it was headed in a negative direction. I have had similar discussions with friends and even my girlfriend and although it stays pretty cool, it inevitably turns into an exercise of convincing the other person to believe what you believe (from both parties). Your interview is a great lesson on being in Truth, Spirit, and Love instead of being on “your” side,”my” side, the church’s side, or any side. I guess I need to be aware in order to accept other people’s beliefs as valid regardless, because it is personal. You know, you know these things that you are supposed to do but you either forget or let emotions and what you said about “ego” getting in the way. I have so much to learn and am thankful for you sharing. I am excited to check out more of this site. I have developed anxiety issues over the last 10 years and have looked at all the different ways to alleviate them. I am finding that the most effective way seems to be depending on God and his Holy Spirit but it is not always easy. Hopefully, I am headed in the right path to rise above my issues. I am optimistic that I will, and I am thankful again for anything inspirational that crosses my path. God bless you sir.

    -Andy

Hi DavidPaul, :o)  I have been meaning to get in touch again after a long absence. Will probably email you about my progress!
What a challenging interview.  But you both handled it beautifully. You were being authentic and loving, and trying to find common ground.  Well done!

  •  Thank You, Hazel. Good to hear from you. I appreciate you letting me know. Blessings to you!

  • Thank you for sharing, Andy. I think the most powerful thing that I’ve learned on letting go of ego is extending love to it. You may want to check out our extending love meditation process. you can get an introductory description of it through our free videos and an in-depth teaching of it through our CDs.

Don needs to take a class in christain communications. If he’s going to preach the bible he needs to read the bible. Saying that, I have a long way to go myself in understanding the truth ! I try to keep it simple even though that’s hard to do. I believe what the bible says and at the same time am open to your thoughts. Bottom line is, Love Conquers All ! That’s what you teach. That’s what every person needs.

  • Jissel Reyes

Hello everyone. David Paul, on regards to your interview, i understand you carried the conversation amazingly. There are four types of love (Storge/Philia/Eros and Agape); on the bible verse that Don mentioned Jesus was referring to AGAPE which is the unconditional love you talk about.
I must say that i have been experiencing the closest relationship to God and my higher self in a way I never thought possible…thank you very much for providing the videos to meditate and get in touch with my higher self… i do not believe in coincidences and i was drawn to your site as i was searching for a way to understand what my higher self was and how i could learn how to listen to it; I’ve always deeply believe that love is the best we can share and feel towards others and most of all ourselves. I complete agree with your teaching.
I thank God for your existence… Many blessings to you and your family.

  • Arlette

DavidPaul – An Awesome presentation!  Don baited you often enough and you always kept it positive.  You are a great role model for us!

  • Thank you, Jissel.  I appreciate your kind words. Blessings to you.

  • Thank you, Arlette. Lots of love to you!

Wow! I really needed that. Thank you so much!!!

Thank You for Standing for what your beliefs You teach Love others teach what they believe in remember Jesus was also challenged great job

  • thanks Ron. Blessings to you 🙂

Great interview!  You responded to him beautifully.   Many years back I chose Jesus as my teacher and make an effort to follow in his footstep in my every day living and have always believed we can communicate directly with God.  What I’ve never understood is….why Christians believe that they are the only ones who will one day go home to God.  I can’t help but think that as the “Father” he would welcome all of his children home no matter what religion or denomination they choose to follow (or not)….as long as they come here, do good, be good, love God (by what ever name)…..even thos who might stumble along the way and take a little longer, yet coming to that same station at some point.  I am on your bandwagon…..Kudos on a meaningful interview.

  • Stella Hotchkiss

David, I have never loved and appreciated you more. A resounding YES to your response in this interview. It was all about Truth and you expressed it so beautifully.

  • Your sweet, Stella 🙂 thank you. Lots of love to you!

  • Thank you for your kind reply. I’m grateful that you enjoyed the interview. With gratitude and blessings to you.

  • Angelaveii

Wow, DavidPaul that was so profound and clear and humble and loving. I  experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit clearly in the content as well as the way you answered.  I also felt it was very Jesus like, because Jesus also had his way to confront the people that thought that he was the devil lovingly and cleverly. And isn’t it interesting that there were enough people at Jesus’ time who thought that he was the devil? I am so happy that I am connected to you and Candace refining my own practice to listen to God’s voice and to embody it. Thank you for being who you are and doing what you do. My love to you!

  • Thanks Angela 🙂 love to you!

Davidpaul, listening to your true voice and conviction of the Holy Spirit has made me understand you even better.  Thank you for speaking the truth about Holy Spirit to connect with God and Jesus.  I understand you completely.  Thank Jesus for the gift of the Holy Spirit to lead us to truth about God and his divine love and purpose. Love is the bond of perfection.  blessings to you and your purpose of sharing the love of God through Holy Spirit.  Good job and I am well pleased.

You are full of love and compassion towards others… and you were truly guided by the Holy Spirit in all that you said… it was a great pleasure to hear this interview, and i truly enjoyed all your comments and words that came out of your mouth from the Holy Spirit.God Bless you..and i hope others will see Gods demonstration of Love in your life.. and hopefully with Gods grace and compassion they will accept him into their lives as well.. with Great love..:D

  • elleo

i used to believe like you but i kept seeking for one thing above all else – absolute truth. i believed that absolute truth contained everything i was looking for including God’s Love – one day, 26 yrs ago, God granted my request – i had a supernatural encounter with the living God through the Holy Spirit. Within 3 days i came to know that the Bible is inspired by God & would teach me all i needed to know (guaranteed @c2e29226ae5b68a88b6920ff8246c2c5:disqus  2Tim 3:16…). i learned that Love & Truth are inseparable, that the only begotten Son of God – Jesus’ death on the cross was the price that had to be paid for my redemption, non-acceptance of this fact will result in eternal damnation.  Praying that the Spirit of Truth will lead you into ALL Truth, then after that you might do another interview. Sending this in agape.

“As the Father hath loved Me, so have I loved you. Continue ye in My love.
If ye keep My commandments, ye shall abide in My love, even as I have kept My Father’s commandments, and abide in His love.
These things have I spoken unto you, that My joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”
    ~John 15:9-11

“Continue ye in My love” is God’s commandment. It is that we continue in God’s love for ourselves with the love God the Father has for Himself as God the Son, which is God in human appearance. This with the understanding that it is God loving Himself as we His his human appearance when we love ourselves.  That the joy of God might remain in us -the joy God then has as we- so that it is also our joy to the fullest.

The full commandment to love God and our neighbor is as follows:
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shlodealt love thy neighbour as thyself.”
    ~Matthew 22:37-39

Notice “the second is like to it.” Meaning that to love your neighbor as yourself is loving God. Therefore the first commandment is saying how to love ourself, and the second how to love our neighbor. In both cases: as God.

That “like to it” is often is overlooked, as it was in the interview.
The above quotations are from the KJV.

David Paul, you are a wonderful person and with no doubt I believe that you are close, very close and speak with our Heavenly Father.  I too, hear his words when my mind is open with the love you speak of.  But I have to say that is only one aspect.  Because I do believe in Jesus Christ.  Jesus Christ was a seperate entity as human which was chosen by God to be the son of God.  Jesus Christ was a person such as yourself, filled with love and he was a teacher such as yourself.  Jesus was the ultimate teacher.  He left us the Holy Spirit to call upon for guidance as a gift when he left go to sit by the side of our father as it says in the Bible.  So they are not one in the same, although the teachers are.  It’s like we have guardian angels to guide us and keep us safe and we call upon the Holy Spirit for further guidance because the Holy Spirit represents Jesus which represents the word of our Lord.  Jesus is himself, the son of God.  Jesus was our teacher, our healer.  And most importantly, Jesus was our Saviour.  You see, know matter how much he tried to teach us, some of us just didn’t understand or chose not to listen.  And because of the love Jesus had for us, he gave his life for us.  Jesus gave his life to God for our sins.  He knew it was either that or we would all perish and he didn’t want that because he loved us. Think about it, if Jesus was not his own entity than why did he look up to the skys on the day before the crucifiction and say to God: “Why have you forsaken me”?  If he was God himslef who came down to walk amongst us  he would have not need to look up and address God about his concern about being forsaken.  Jesus was human, he had one slight moment of fear and that is why he understood us so well. That is why he loved us so much and wanted to save us and really wanted us to trust and believe and love God as much as he did.  He wanted us to have a lifetime to learn.  I will never forget the pain he endured for us and the Bible says that to get through the doors of heaven is to believe that Jesus was the son of God.  If Jesus was not of his own entity, then why does it say in the Bible that after the crucifiction, and after he rose again “Easter Sunday” after that time he left to go sit by the side of God. “Praise the Lord”

And yes there is a devil….although I hate to even give any recognition to that name.  In the Bible he was in fact an Angel who thought he could do better than God.  So he was cast out of Heaven.  The reason why you battled for all those years with finding the love is because the devil did not want you to find it.  The devil will try to swallow all those who love or anything about love.  That is why the world is getting worse and worse.  The more you love the harder it will be but you will eventually find peace in that love because you have “Free Will” in believing that God is always there to guide you, protect to from evil andd love you unconditionally forever.  It was you that found the power to realize this which gave you strength because the devil was hot on your tail.  He did not want you to have love or experience love because then he would loose you to God and the Devil has always been jealous of God.  So how greatful I am that you were so strong enough to realize that it is “God”, that you chose, it is “Love”, which is “God” that you chose to be in your heart forever.  Because that means that you were yet another gift from God to all of us to teach us how we to can love and break the shackles of the devil.  The devil will creep up on your spirit like a snake in the grass.  Even creep up on those the closes to God at times, but what you must realize is that you have reached the top.  You have reached the point of no fear for the LOVE of God is with you and the Holy Spirit that Jesus left behind for us is protecting you.  You are so protected so that you may continue to preach LOVE and teach all of us to be as strong as you, “Free Will”.  We were all given Free Will and you have chosen wisely.  You are the Olympian in that endeavor and that is your gift from God to us.  As long as we continue to love God and follow his word and say our prayers we will be protected from evil.  You know, “Our father who art in Heaven, etc” and in the end the words are; “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil”.  I know the complete prayer but for time sake and space I didn’t it all, so forgive me, but I believe you know it already.

Again back to the time Jesus was looking up to the Heavens and said; “God why have you forsaken me?”  Because he had a very slight moment of human fear, why?  Because the devil was there, trying to fill him with fear and telling him that the Lord was not going to be there for him.  So yes there is a stinking devil.  And yes Jesus, OUR Saviour from sin IS the SON of GOD.  And Jesus STOMPED out the devil and proceeded because if LOVE was sooooo strong for all of us.

I too hear the Lord DavidPaul.  I too try to love all and try to find my purpose, etc.  I too am human and make mistakes along the way and have fears at times.  But it is the guidance of the Holy Spirit that Jesus left for me and all of us that brings me back.

It was the Holy Spirit that guided me to your website when I needed it most.  God always wants like to be with like.  We stand together stronger as we all would be stronger and would have a better world if we all believed and that is what you are striving for as was Jesus and as am I and all who love and believe in God and Jesus our Saviour, the son of God.

i listen to your videos and read our emails with a open mind and heart and I love them.  I love the fact that you are teaching of love.  And I will continue to listen and be open minded on your theory always.  So all I ask is that you hear me with what I say.  It is not me who sends this message alone.  I am guided to speak with you as well.  Its time to learn more for both of us.  Hold onto your discovery of your findings of love as hard as you can and never let go.  I am sure you will always love.  But there are more truths to learn out there besides love DavidPaul.  You must loose the fear to dig deeper while you hold on strong to the truth of love.  Remember you will always have the guidance of the Holy Spirit which Jesus left for you.  Jesus was the ultimate teacher of love and God.  He is your mentor and you are one of his top, best students and we thank you for sharing all that you learn on your journey.

May God Bless you and your wife with happiness, peace, love, joy and abundance for ever and ever.

    Peace and love,
    Pamela

i listen to your videos and read our emails with a open mind and heart and I love them.

    Peace and love,
    Pamela

Wow! Thank you for not wavering from the God is love message! He sure wanted to tell you you we going straight to hell, didn’t he? How do you feel about Grace? Maybe he would have understood that inhis language. Anyway I was proud of how you continued to challenge him in love!

  • I believed all the answers you delivered. It was a great discussion, I guess we have the same beliefs 🙂

  • Victor Egbefo

I really believe in your teaching and conviction of the voice of love. You are absolutely right, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one. Since you believe every thing Jesus said was inspired or spoken by The Holy Spirit and Jesus is a perfect example of somebody that was completely yielded to the Holy Spirit and as a result He demonstrated the ultimate form of love by laying down his life for us and  the highest display of the Holy Spirit power with awesome signs and wonders, I will advise you to take out time to study the bible to know every thing Jesus said about Himself, His teachings in all life issues including hell and heaven. And all about the writting of his 12 apostles who had a first hand experience of His person. Also in your meditation you can beging to ask the Holy Spirit to teach you about Jesus Christ, and portions of the Bible that you read. This is my sincere advice to you. We are all learning, no one has arrived yet. The life of Jesus remain an enigma to me till date: His love life, His sinless life, His virgin birth, His claims and the miracles he did. Every thing about him is a wonder to me. From your interview you said you believe absolutely in Jesus and  you rightly said we all can be like him. But we are not all there, yet at least not in miracles. It will be wisdom to learn from one has been there. So as a friend my advice for you is to at least read the bible to know about the one who has been there, done what we are all trying to achieve and to know how Jesus achieved it. Just like your students are learning from you now because you have achieved a measure of spiritual development that your students dont have, in the same way you too can learn from Jesus by studying the bible to learn. We continue to learn till we all go back to Source and complete it.

Hi, I love the way you conducted the interview. To me, it was not controversial at all, or if it was, then not in the same way as it was for Don Parker. Your words ring true to me, but I’m not a Christian. It took me some effort to come to terms with the concepts of God, Jesus or the Holy Spirit. It still does. Yet behind these concepts, behind your words … somewhere inside me I know … something  resonates, it just rings true. When Don Parker uses these same words, I feel the same fear that I felt as a child, listening to the vicar in church.
I was raised a Christian, but I just could not connect to the teachings I received. All I felt was pressure and guilt. So, when I grew up I left that path.
Many years later when I came to studying “A Course In Miracles”, despite its use of Christian vocubulary. And because of its Christian vocabulary it healed much of the pain from my “Christian” upbringing. It just put things into perspective for me, in much same way you did in the interview. It allowed me to “forgive”: It was not the teachings that were wrong, but my perceptions of them.
Unlike you, I did read some “new age” books and saw current day teachers. Some of them, like Byron Katie, or Eckhart Tolle, to me resonate the same truth. I think my study of the course prepared me to hear their message. Byron Katie or Eckhart Tolle don’t use the words “God”, “Christ” or “Holy Spirit”. To me, that makes it easier to access, easier to experience the love they speak about. Hearing your loving responses is an inspiration, thank you.

Hello, DavidPaul ~ Thank you so much for posting this interview. The Holy Spirit moved through you beautifully and with great respect and Love. I could also feel Don being touched by love’s power. When you spoke of your awakening, I began to cry tears of joy, and prayed that I, too, will have a direct experience of the power of God’s love in my own life. It distilled the long journey of seeking to this one most important point.
The Peace of God is shining in you now, and in Don and in all living things.
    Blessings always and forever,
    Gina

    DavidPaul;

Thanks you.  Your interview was loving, honest and open.  You were guided by the Holy Spirit and what you spoke of is difficult for many of the different religions to grasp as it is counter to what they have been taught.

I am currently challening a book from Jesus and it will be complete later this month.  In it Jesus speaks about the many religions of the world and their need to consider that many of their teachings are incorrect and that their rules no longer serve the people for which they were intended.

Jesus talks about his teachings while he was on Earth and how in the telling and retelling and retelling throughout the ages that much of what was originally spoken is no longer discerable.  He lists those beliefs that should be discarded so that people can live free to shame, guilt and fear.  All that you spoke about in your interview is reiterated as well.

Thank you for being such a wonderful and loving spokesman for the truth and holding fast to your beliefs.  There was no judgement – only love and a want for the truth to be known.  You probably awakened a number of souls during the couse of this interview.

    God’s Blessings to you,
    Take Care, Smile Often!

David Paul, I am here with you on your points.   Unfortunately, there is self imposed separation when we label ourselves Christian or not, or any particular religion.  That is what I love about your ministry. The epitome of New Thought. Non-denominational which does not create more separation.  God is all there is. Jesus the Christ was definitely a son of God and we are all children of God, we co-create with God, created in Its image and likeness, one and inseparable.  God is not to be feared, it is not God’s will. God is not a mean kid on an anthill with a magnifying glass. God is not saying “you live, you die, you are well, you are sick, you are successful, you are not, you obey me or I smite you…” there is no sin but a mistake. God is all-loving. There is no duality.  Heaven and hell are here on earth.  You were so full of grace.  Many blessings!

  • Sojiel

That was a great interview, I believe our bodies are the Temples of the living God, and Jesus or Holy Spirit lives in us, so we can hear his loving voice and Grace. We are the branches and God is the vine, and even our hair in our heads are numbered!

I have a reputation for waffling and not getting to the point so for a change I’m going to get straight to my point. David Paul, if you were the minister in my church, I would go every week and not as I do now, every 2 months or so to play the organ when requested.Hope that helps! With great love Mandy x

I once heard someone say, organized religion is for people who fear going to hell, and spirituality (which my definition is direct experience of God ) is for people who finally had enough of being there. There is a profound contrast between the experience of God, and being caught up in our thoughts and beliefs about him. Very well done DavidPaul, I can’t imagine that interview didn’t leave Don with some sense (feeling) of truth in what you passed on, not with words, but the energy it was expressed in.

    Hi David Paul
I loved loved all your answers to Don’s questions. In the beginning he seemed to want to argue his points but as the interview went on, he seemed was very open to listen to your your truth..he even used the the “commendable” to describe your work :). And I have to agree. Great interview David Paul, thank you for your beautiful work!

I am sorry, I accidently hit the up reply and then tried to fix it with the down, so I am not sure how it came out. I didn’t intend to reply, as I just want to remain open and honoring of all the comments that are being expressed.

    Dear David Paul,

I haven’t listend to the whole interview yet, but I wanted to get at the heart of what seemed to be a conflict between two perceptions.
From what I saw, there was an argument about the unconditionality vs. conditionality of love, and there was a disagreement about hell, and arguments about the nature of the devil. He asked if you believed there was a devil

you replied he was a force— , also vague on hell.

when asked about who jesus was- you replied that he was the embodiment of what we can all do, the perfection—

You also said, ‘if you want to call that the devil- i want to call that evil— and that is the challenge that we all face—

I do believe that the teachings of Jesus are misunderstood by many people. However, in regards to the conception of the devil, I would like to ask, what about all those casting out of demons that occurs in the ministry of Jesus. Literal demons that came out, that entered into swine. That gave names like ‘legions’.

If Jesus is the embodiment of something amazing of God, then how do you reconcile that part his ministry with the conception of unconditional love.

What about the revelation in St. John, that a third of he angels fell from heaven…

These things need to be reconciled I think to get at the truth of what is happening. A love that has power behind it, I believe, is what is going on with Jesus. I pray for the understanding of everyone, and for all lies and false beliefs to be taken out.

    Dear David Paul,

I especially liked your reply to the interviewer about the nature of God’s love. It is clear from scripture that the nature of God is pure love, and that separation from God is a result of what we do, not what God does. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

This stuff about ‘following the devil’ is totally ridiculous. How can light exist in the same space as darkness, and how can God’s love exist with the practice of evil? “Thou shalt love God with all your heart and soul and mind, and love your neighbor as yourself. ” This is the entire gospel and the commandments.

  • Jeremiah

Listening to this interview was especially helpful to me, because it provided me an opportunity to HEAR the contextual distinction between my past religious upbringing and my current faith about a limitless source and loving presence that we are all a part of.

The interviewer appears to be listening through the context of “right/wrong” and from there, little possibility exists for enlightenment. However, it is a gift to hear, despite the discomfort.

Thank you for sharing this dialogue. You brought great openness and love to a challenging debate.

    Hi DavidPaul,

I listened to your interview for 20 minutes and there was a break in the playback. I think your explanation was in line with God’s Word. However I do not know where in the Bible that indicates that heaven or hell is a state of one’s consciousness of doing or not doing God’s will. My understanding of the bible is that there is a spiritual place called heaven in God’s kingdom for those who love God and another spiritual place called hell for those who do not believe in God. Your comments please,Gabriel.

    Hello David Paul,
I just listened to your radio interview. I was attuned to your peace, confidence (conviction), expressed love and your comfort with your truth” that was evident in the interview. Your supportive, kind way that you interacted with the interviewer was so loving and gentle.. I hope that many other folks got a chance to hear it when it was broadcast.
I too believe that we are here to love, to unite, to recognize our own divinity as children of a Loving God and to also know and to see that “Christ Spirit”, as it is expressed within
everyone else, as well…..and the Greatest of these IS Love.
    Many blessings.

  • Thank you, Dianne. I’m so grateful to hear it. Thanks for taking the time to write and let me know! Lots of love and blessings to you!

  • cs

Good interview and I did not detect that you attacked DavidPaul. And yes, you tried to answer Don’s questions in a thought-form he could grasp.

  • Candice

    Thank you for speaking Love!

  • robert keefe

I think Don let you speak so freely without interupting because in his heart he knows thats where we should all be , experiancing God . Thanks

  • Henk Platteel

    Hi David Paul.

Though I listened to this intervieuw two or more years ago, I listened again today upon your invitation. I couldn’t agree more on all you said and admire the nonjudgmental way with which you expressed yourself in the most clear and loving way. The few times that I know that the Holy Spirit speaks to me it always is so loving and I feel grateful for it. I wished I could start a coversation with Him anytime. Unfortunately that has’t been my daily experience yet. Listening to your tapes, reading The Course and doing the lessons, it all helps and I see progress. Thank you for being who you are and pushing ever so lightly in the direction of unconditional Love.

  • Thanks Henk. -:) I appreciate it. Glad you enjoyed it.

Never give up with your desire and efforts to join with God, feel His/Her Love and Presence in your life. Your efforts are never in vain!

    Blessings to you

OK, I DON’T KNOW IF THIS WILL GET TO YOU…I’M HAVING TROUBLE WITH THIS SETUP FOR A COMMENT……..I HAVE LISTENED TO THE FIRST 10 MINUTES ONLY OF THIS INTERVIEW BECAUSE I HAVE TO GO….I AM SO VERY IMPRESSED WITH YOU MR. DOYLE…THE GUY SEEMS TO BE YEARNING FOR YOUR COMMITMENT TO THE JESUS CONCEPT….YOU ARE STANDING YOUR GROUND TRYING TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT JESUS WAS INDEED THE PERFECT DESCIPLE OF GOD AND THAT WE ALL ARE CHILDREN OF GOD CAPABLE OF EVERYTHING THAT JESUS HAD…I SO WANTED YOU TO TELL HIM TO GO TO HIS BIBLE AND FIND WHERE JESUS HIMSELF TOLD HIS FOLLOWERS THAT THEY COULD HAVE WHAT HE HAS AND MORE……
KEEP BEING YOU MY GOOD MAN……………………..DAN….dkw1955@gmail.com

  • Thank you for your kind words, Dan. I appreciate it.

    Many blessings to you,

    DavidPaul

  • Cheryl Woodford

This was an excellent interview. You were clear, honest and loving in answering every one of his questions. There was no doubt or hesitation in anything you said. The interviewer was also calm and thoughtful. He was skeptical, but not antagonistic.

  • Thanks Cheryl. Glad you enjoyed it.

    Blessings to you,

    DavidPaul

  • Bob Smith

DavidPaul I really like the answers you gave to this fellow. It helped me in a big way to figuring out what I truly believe myself. When I say figuring out I mean that it has been a constant process for me. And I continue moving forward. I grew up in the evangelical world, went to an evangelical college then went an received an MA in Theology. So I emerged myself in the Christian world. I have always been a person to question and/or challenge beliefs and systems that just don’t make sense to me. I became so weary of the Christian world that I left it completely… as well as any relationship that I might have with God. Too many people trying to parse out every little syllable of the Bible to try to prove that they are right and that I was wrong. So I found myself in a place where I didn’t know if I even believed in a God let alone His wanting to communicate to me by the Holy Spirit. Even now I can’t force myself to a church. At one point during the interview my heart sank… It started sounding too much like religion to me. I don’t want this relationship with God be like anything that I have had before. I’m so glad I listened to the end… your analogy of the parent and child really hit home for me. And when you said that you don’t each a belief system… well that’s singing my song. I came across “The Voice For Love Within” while looking for books related to ACIM. I read it and am now on day 10 of The 5 Steps… it has been a tremendous help and I now know that I hear the Holy Spirit and am excited about the possibilities for the future. Thank you for your good work and know that it has helped me along this way….peace

  • Bob, thank you so much for your comment. I’m really grateful to hear that you now know that you hear the Holy Spirit! That brings joy to my heart! I’m also just truly grateful that we could be part of your journey. Thank you. Keep up the great job you are doing! 🙂

  • Randy Rutman

    DavidPaul
When listening to your interview I couldn’t help but think of the way Joan of arc was treated by the church when she claimed to be speaking with God directly. The problem with most traditional religious practices is they do not tell their followers what it would be like to actually be in communication with the Holy Spirit. Therefore it becomes essentially impossible for them to know when someone is actually hearing the voice for God or the voice for the ego/devil. I just want to say that I am extremely grateful for your work and you are a blessing to my life and the world in general.

  • Janice

No controversy there for me, My CIM study and guidance from the Holy Spirit are totally aligned with your answers to his questions which at times seemed to be designed to make the two of you separate. Your loving way of responding was a lesson for ME. Thank you for posting the interview.
