God is Everywhere

Terri Amos-BrittAs you know, we at The Voice for Love are big proponents of hearing God’s Voice in all ways imaginable, so when my friend, Terri Amos-Britt, sent this article to me entitled, God Is Everywhere, I wanted to share with you. Enjoy!

"You are not alone. You are part of this wonderful, loving presence we call God. God is in everything; therefore, you are part of the whole. You are connected to all of it. When you make the decision to start loving yourself, opening up to make a divine connection, you’ll realize that you are not alone and never have been. You’ll see that God’s messages are everywhere, if you’ll just slow down and pay attention.

I’ll never forget the day that I truly realized that God IS everywhere. I can’t remember the exact reason I was struggling—motherhood seems to have sapped my memory—but what I do remember is the fact that I was standing over my washing machine praying. Yep, that’s right. I was praying over my washing machine. Don’t laugh. My daughter, Mackenzie, will tell you that she walked in our house on another day with a friend and saw me sitting on the floor in my fluffy pink bathrobe by a partially unloaded dishwasher with my eyes closed. When she asked what in the world I was doing, I opened one eye and said, “Meditating.” She rolled her eyes at her friend, threw her arms up and laughed, saying, “See what I have to live with!”

I tend to meditate and pray everywhere, especially after that day in my laundry room. As I said, I don’t remember exactly what I was upset about but do know that I was really struggling with life. I felt so alone. I remember saying to God, “I need to know you are here. I need help.”

As I lifted my eyes I saw “Infinite Water Level” listed on my Maytag washing machine. “Wow!” I thought. “That’s just like God: infinite.” Then I noticed another line on the machine, “Dependable Care Plus/Heavy Duty, 2 Speed, Super Capacity.” Yes, I knew I was being told that God is always dependable and will always be there with me with super capacity to take care of me if I will just surrender.

The message went a step further when I noticed the “Wash/Rinse Temperature” settings. I saw “Hot/Cold, Warm/Warm, etc.,” you get it, and knew that I was being shown that it is our choice on how much we allow God to help us. God’s touch in our lives can be really hot if we want it to be or really cold if we shut it out.

When I saw the next setting, “Wash/Spin Speed,” I knew God was telling me we have a choice to be on our journeys as fast or as slow as we want to be. Our path can be regular or fast, or very gentle and slow. It’s always our choice.

The last setting I saw on my washing machine that day was for the 11 different cycles for different types of clothes. This aspect of the message told me that God is there for everybody. No matter who you are, where you’re from, or what race you are, that God’s unconditional love is everywhere for everyone.

Wow! I couldn’t believe I received such an inspiring message praying over my Maytag washing machine! I knew then that God was listening to me. And I knew that God’s messages come in all sorts of packages.

Mom, your day-to-day life is filled with messages from God, just like my washing machine was for me that day when I prayed for help. God speaks to us in many ways. The messages are gifts to guide us. They give us the answers we seek so we don’t feel so alone and buried in responsibilities. By giving yourself permission to create a connection and opening up to receive God’s messages, you release the turmoil in your life and become a more loving mom."

Wow! Yes, God speaks to us every day and everywhere when we put effort in seeking Him. God is also full of humour. He speaks through the Maytag washing machine and will use anything or anyone to touch our lives and reminds us He is God.

Thank you so very much for your blog. It inspired me. I am a mom, although my children are all grown.
I most recently heard of “God is Everywhere” and I am enjoying reading the information, and learning from it.
I have had some truly dark days lately, and have felt the same way, as you did, the day with the washer. I try to erase the doubts, when they enter my mind. I pray, but feel He doesn’t hear me. I can get no answers, and that makes me question
My faith. “Why can’t He hear me, and why doesn’t He answer me”? I will take the advice I have read, and be still, and maybe I will hear Him.
    Thank you again Teri,
    Most sincerely, Lois Fanara

Yes God is everywhere, I know I struggle everyday seeking Him and asking Him to make my day easier and with blessings for all, and somewhow even If I don’t get what I want, somwhow God alivates the day and makes life easier, todays though was: “In your mind lies all power,
    the power to choose peace,
    or the power to suffer.”
So true, If you ask God tho help you and do believe in Him, stop worrying as soon as you fisnish prayer, he will come through and look after you (us)

  • Lois, thank you so much for your heartfelt post to Teri. My heart goes out to you because I struggled in despair for many many years trying to hear God’s voice and I could not hear a thing. Eventually, the Holy Spirit taught me how to hear his voice very clearly and distinctly within me through the help of my wife. Since then, my wife and I have dedicated our lives to teaching the five step process the Holy Spirit taught us. It’s the greatest gift that I can offer you in learning how to hear God’s voice within you in a very clear and recognizable.

Hello Lois, Do you ever hear yourself answering you? or hear in your mind thoughts or comments? that is God, the Holy Spirit talking to you. God’s Love is everywhere, with the Right Perception, meaning how you handle your thoughts, sometimes we ask for things in bulk or unrealistic things, God gives us relief and the things we need in parts and on an everyday basis. I am going through very dark days, no money, no job, marital relations which are not ideal, yet I ask God everyday to please help me carry the load, see Psalm 55:22, help me with my burden, help me carry it and He does a little at a time. GThere is a saying in Spanish. “No hay mal que dure 100 años” which means there is no burden or bad thing that will last 100 years, I believe that God has a plan for all of us, a purpoose on earth, maybe to help others with their burdens, maybe a test of how you handle yourself, if He brough you here and to a certain situation, He will bring you out of it. Close your eyes and ask the Holy Spirit to help you and show yoy how to pray, to sit there with you and simply talk to God and tell him in a very direct manner what you think, speak to him as if he was sitting next to you, ask him to come to you, enter your heart and be the decision maker, to let him decide for you, just sit and be still, remember you are a mortal and you have no power for miracles, only Him, let him do his work, let Him do the miracles, ket him do his will, not yours. I will pray to Him for you and know you will have some relief and peace of mind, that is what it is all about, peace with God and with yourself. I stand with you and in the name and glory of our Lord, I call upon God to come to our aid and relieve all our burdens a little at a time. “Lord please hear Lois and this humbre servant, come to us, bless our lives and of our dear ones, let us be faithful and give us the power of Faith, you once said, that if a man’s faith is as small as a mustard seed, he can move mountains, we believe in you and your holy power of miracles, Please, Please Lord, come to us and let us see the sunshine of your lovely face and the goodness of your heart.

God bless you and your always.
