Becoming Hummingbird: Charting Your Life Journey the Shaman’s Way

Jane Galer

Dear friends,

This may be of interest to you. I just snagged an excerpt to share with you from Jane Galer’s upcoming book, Becoming Hummingbird: Charting Your Life Journey the Shaman’s Way. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet, but because her book is coming out next week, I wanted to give you a sneak peek as soon as possible. Jane Galer is an award winning poet, author, and shaman. She holds a BA in Philosophy and an MA in Material Culture Studies. She trained in shamanic energy medicine with the Q’ero of the high Andes of Peru.

This book sounds very unique. Its goal is to help you discover your own hero’s journey. The introduction of the book says this:

"What is your personal mythology? Your path of service? How will you navigate a life of worth in a disaffected world? How will you be the Hero of your own journey?

Modern Western culture has been stripped of archetypal connections: those universal pathways that act as life guides. Many of us have lost our way. This book provides a process of 12 guided meditations by which each of us can establish our own destiny and move forward into a life lived fully and with conscious care for the world at large. Using Jungian psychology, Shamanic healing techniques, and deep meditation, the reader learns to identify a personal hero’s path by creating a mythology that resonates in today’s world."

Isn’t to be a shaman against the Bible?

nope. im surprised someone as narrow minded and ignorant as you are even interested in a blog by the voice for love.
i think people who falsely call themselves christian are getting too much attention and no one is telling them to be quiet and keep their hatred which they claim to be from jesus. these extremists are getting out of control and are taking over our military and are preparing for another inquisition.
what is the bible anyway? its a book by various authors over a long period of time that has been edited and altered and many passages removed. it doesnt say anywhere in the bible that people are to be judged by what they call “god” and how they practice their religion. what matters is that each individual walks their path of higher knowing, and connects with the only “god” there is; the god within themselves. i prefer the word love to the word god. the term “god” has been hijacked by various people to control others and create a very unbalanced culture of haves and have nots. its created suffering thru judgement and countless people have lost their lives because of some people’s false beliefs that only they have the answers and everyone else should conform with them.
marius, do you even know what a shaman is?
we must tone down the rhetoric and the literal interpretations of someone’s opinion that happens to be in a book called the bible. “god” judges no one, and offers unconditional love and acceptance to all people. every single being in the universe is loved and is made up of love. plant, animal or mineral….
i hope in asking this question you are actually interested in educating yourself, so you can become a more balanced person who learns to think for themselves, and not just makes assumptions or is content to be fed a bunch of opinions. that you actually go within yourself and find that place that s pure. there are no such questions as yours when you are aligned with source and love.
